Caroline’s Blessing

Caroline Maria Snow was blessed by her father, Robert Wayne Snow II, on November 14th. It was a beautiful blessing given to a gorgeous and very special little girl. Some of the things she was blessed with are that:

  • She is a pleasure to have in our family.
  • She will grow up and enjoy our family and home. That they will be a source of love and peace.
  • She will read the scriptures, pray, and have a special relationship with her Heavenly Father and have trust in Him.
  • She will look to her Heavenly Father to find herself and He will be a source of confidence and trust.
  • She will seek education and benefit from it.
  • She will seek to find the right man and raise children in love and faith.

I’m so, so grateful for Caroline. She brings us joy. I’m also very grateful that my husband holds the Melchizedek Priesthood worthily and can give our family blessings from our Heavenly Father directly to us. These blessings are a source of strength and love. I love my family and am ecstatic to be sealed to them forever. The Gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I feel it deeply. I know it.

Seriously?!

Little Caroline is a sweetheart, don’t get me wrong. But seriously?! She requires holding, canoodling, bouncing, rocking, walking, and feeding for all of her waking hours. I finally get her to sleep and the slightest stir wakes her into wide-eyedness for another couple of hours. Then I start all over from scratch. Mind you, this is all day long most days. And just when I think it can’t get worse, the evening comes. She’s three times worse from 6pm to at least midnight. EVERY night.

She isn’t colicky and once she’s completely asleep after midnight she sleeps well. But all day and evening she’s high maintenance. All my newborns have been like this. The other two grew out of it eventually, but that won’t be for another few months.

Good thing she’s cute.

Fam can see a few more pics here.

This is the movie Rob made for his oldest daughter. It’s such a great thing! Let us know if you want more info on creating (or having us create) one of these movies for you. They’re so fun!

Here’s the link if you can’t see the video.

Decisions, Decisions

We haven’t sold our townhome yet. We haven’t even had a showing in weeks. Neither has the other townhome down the street. We’ve had it for sale now for almost 6 whole months! Bad market. Bad, bad market. But that’s exactly why we want to buy a new home. The deals are fantastic!!! So it’s frustrating.

We’ve decided to take it off the market for a little while so we can refinance. The interest rate is just too killer to pass up. Then we can pay off some debt and save more money for our eventual down payment.

The next question is…do we want to rent out our townhouse??? With the market being so poor we aren’t expecting to make much equity on our sale anyway. We’ve never been landlords before so that makes us nervous. But these babies rent quickly and we’d be able to get into a new house sooner.

We’d rent it for not much more than the apartments down the street (INCLUDING the HOA!) and these are MUCH nicer. So does anyone know someone who may be interested???

Basic Info:

1400 sq ft
3 bedrooms
2 1/2 bathrooms
Clubhouse/Pool
Super great community and neighbors!!

Here’s the link to our MLS page which shows more info.

Fraulein Caroline

This is our little Fraulein Caroline in her brand spankin’ new Lederhosen (as Rob likes to call her hip harness).

Her left hip bone never formed into her hip socket so this lovely device shall be worn for 6-8 weeks until she is all properly socketed. She doesn’t seem to mind too much except it prevents her from being properly swaddled, which is how she likes to sleep. I don’t mind it much except it prevents me from feeding her while I sleep in bed. Boo!

I crack up every time I see this picture. She looks just like her dad!! Can’t you just see her personality forming right before your eyes?

1/2 Birthday

When my brothers and sisters and I were young my dad started the tradition of 1/2 birthdays. He felt that waiting a whole year for a birthday was just too long for a little kid. This meant that 6 months after our birthday we would get a small gift (usually about 5 bucks worth) and a dessert of our choosing after dinner. It was so awesome I decided I wanted to continue the tradition in my own family.

Madeleine had her 1/2 birthday in September. She went to Jungle Jim’s a few months earlier for her cousin’s birthday and had been asking EVERY day since to go back. So that’s what we did to celebrate her turning 2 1/2. The dessert she chose? Chocolate cupcakes with m&ms on top.

Here she is flying her spaceship.

This makes me laugh. Around, around, and around he goes! He gets his knack for driving from his dad ;)

The House Loses

In the game of life and motherhood, my house is the loser. Taking care of 3 kids under 5 years old takes up just about every minute of my time. So if you happen to stop by, please excuse the mess…and smell…

Poopy diapers galore!!! I change one about every 6 minutes.

Also, please excuse my unkempt self. Said poopy diapers keep me from getting too glamorous. I’m lucky when I can get clothes on by 11am. I have 17 minutes to go and I only have my top half dressed for the day. But I know as soon as I put down this little bundle of joy she’ll start having a fit and I might only have time to put in my contacts. It’s literally a race against time.

On your mark, get set, GO!!!
