We are Settling in
Our move on Wednesday night was successful. We had a ton of help and are so grateful for all the people who took time out of there week to come get us moved. It took until this morning for us to get our internet connection going. It was a long weekend without the internet. So Julie and I got a new bed and are currently shopping for some new cherry wood blinds. Nate has his own bedroom once again and has his own bathroom too! I set up the grill that Julie and Nate got me for father's day and we grilled some cheeseburgers! I'm grilling some New York strip steaks tomorrow! It has also been really fun setting up shelves in the garage and finally having a garage for the car. We'll take some pictures soon and get them posted for you to see.

10 Reasons that Soccer is the Best Sport
So I'm pretty annoyed to hear everyone talk about why soccer is such a boring, dumb, silly, wimpy, and slow sport. I have prepared a list of my top ten reasons that soccer is the best sport in the world. I hope you all find these informative.
- I like it
- The World Cup is an international competition not just U.S. teams playing against other U.S. teams and proclaiming themselves as world champions.
- It is more athletic than other sports - more running, larger field, no timeouts.
- The players must play the entire game - if they sub out they cannot come back in.
- Soccer shorts and soccer legs - as submitted enthusiastically by Julie.
- No set plays
- Short people have the advantage over tall people because speed and agility triumph over height and coverage.
- No pads allowed - real men play this sport!
- Yellow and Red cards are so much cooler than sissy flags!
- The last 10 minutes of the game doesn't take 40 in real time!

Are We Failing?
I read an eye opening article at ksl.com - which I must admit was surprising. Anyway, it talks about Crate & Barrel and the Cheesecake Factory not building stores at the Gateway because to few Utahns are college graduates! Now I don't give a crap about the stores but I do care about our declining population holding college degrees. What is going on here? This is a disturbing trend when it is clear that more and more jobs require college degrees for basic qualification. I think more women are getting degrees than ever before so are the men to blame? What do you think?

Official Photos Are Here
These pictures were taken by our good friend Shannon of the Mommy Going Crazy Blog. She is a good friend of ours and a very talented photographer - Reed Photographic. She did a very good job at capturing many of Nate's different personalities. Each of these pictures shows a different look and feeling. We will always enjoy these pictures! Anyway, here's to Nate for being such a cute kid and many thanks to Shannon for doing her job really well and for being a good friend.

Crazy Vegas Trip
Where do I start? This was a pretty funny trip that Teresa Hunt and I took when we were 16 years old. Let me tell you up front, I don’t know what we were thinking. We didn’t really get into much trouble or anything, but believe me, the opportunities were there unfortunately. How about if I start from the beginning? But first a disclaimer: some events have been left out…but don’t use your imagination too much.
So Teresa and I had just gotten our driver’s licenses and thought it’d be cool to go to Vegas (we told our parents we were staying with friends in St. George). We left early on Friday, checked into a hotel in St. George using our community college ids. That night we drove to Vegas and walked up and down the Strip all night taking pictures and goofing off. Finally, at around 4am we decided we needed to get back to St. George. We were so tired that we went to our car parked in the Caesar’s Palace parking lot and fell asleep for about an hour. Then we started driving back, but being inexperienced drivers we couldn’t even find the freeway entrance. We drove around Las Vegas for about 2 hours before finally making it to I-15 North. We were so tired! At this point we had only gotten an hour of sleep since 5am the morning before. We each had to pull off to the shoulder every 20 minutes or so all the way back to St. George so we wouldn’t fall asleep at the wheel. One time we both had to close our eyes for a few minutes before we started off again. Very, very, very dangerous. We were really stupid. Then, the car started overheating! We made it to Mesquite and stopped at a gas station. After lifting up the hood, we just stood there, dumbfounded. Like we knew what to do! Luckily, someone was kind enough to tell us to just put water in the radiator. We finally made it back to our hotel, slept for 3 more hours, then head home. That was when we got our navels pierced!
Well, kind of a long story, but fairly entertaining. Looking back on those teenage years I realize how blessed I am to have gotten out alive (way too many dangerous situations for a young teenage girl to put herself in). Well, kids do crazy things. I can only hope that Nathan takes after his dad instead. Hahaha. Yeah…..right ;)

Crazy World
So I have been neglecting my blogging as of late because of all the crazy things that are going on. I got my B. S. and started my first real job - I'm a really engineer now by the way - and continuing to work on my thesis and shopping for a place to live is really hard work. Wow, what a week. Anyway, I'll get back to some more regular blogging soon.
